    Hi Arnaud,

There are basically two questions in your thread :

*1. Does Oracle Portal continue to work if the metadata repository databases are upgraded from 10g to 11g*

Yes, Oracle Portal should work fine with 11g but check Note Note [url https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=465968.1]465968.1, "How to upgrade the Portal Database to 11g?"

    Additional information :

    Note [url https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=740417.1]740417.1, "Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1) Certification for Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2, 10.1.3, 10.1.4)"
    Note [url https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=887365.1]887365.1, "Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Certification for Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2, 10.1.3, 10.1.4)"

*2. Does Oracle Portal continue to work if the Portal metadata repository database's character set is changed to UTF8?*

UTF8 is a superset of most eight bits character sets such as WE8ISO8859P1, WE8MSWIN1252 so it should work. You may want to check {thread:id=637454} for info about the csscan utility. Also ensure to set the proper NLS settings when exporting/importing data - you won't be the first one who exports with NLS_LANG set to US7ASCII :-)

    Thanks,
    EJ
