I may be wrong, but I think the OP has downloaded the files locally. I don't think the OP likes the fact that the "index" oracle provides to browse the documentation uses a web browser even though all the files and the "index" are local.
As far as a solution I can't think of any other than memorizing the file name to book name :)
Builded a booklist.pdf myself and indexed all pdf files. Removed the mobi/epub/html-stuff and now have a fast small local searchable doc.

from the help or supply (as in Release 10) a booklist and pre-built pdf-index.
