    Versioning

    975377
      Hi all,

I have an existing server and currently doing a fresh installation for Directory Server.

In my fresh installation, i notice the version is stated as 11.1.1.5 ( Once i login to DSCC, i click on the version on the top left) whereby on my existing server the version is stated as 7.0.

Are you able to advice how should i standardize ? cause i am hoping to standardize everything as 7.0.

      Thanks in advance!!

          Hello,
the 7.x version naming was from the old Sun days, now the new Oracle version naming is 11.1.1.5 and the latest available patch is 11.1.1.5.1:

Thanks Milo, i will go read up the changes from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.1.5.

I believe 7.0 is able to upgrade to 11.1.1.5 and patch to 11.1.1.5.1.

              Yes,
you can upgrade from 7.0 to 11.1.1.5 as described in the official product documentation:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition Upgrade and Migration Guide
              11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0)
              http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20295_01/html/821-1219/index.html

---> Chapter 2: Patching Directory Server Enterprise Edition 7 to Version 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0)
              http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20295_01/html/821-1219/upgrade7to11.html#scrolltoc

And then apply the latest patch 11.1.1.5.1 to 11.1.1.5

              HTH,
              Marco
