      Hi Experts,

My database running in Oracle 10g Std Ed. Now we want to replicate the same into a DR site. Whether we need move the primary database to Enterprise edition or any other possibilities available for dataguard implementation in oracle standard edition?

      Please Suggest.

If you want to use dataguard, then Enterprise edition licenses are required for ALL of the primary and standby database servers.

But if you need not dataguard, you can use manual standby database on standard edition.

For Oracle Standard Edition, DataGuard is not available. Your choices are:
            a. Homebuilt solution and build your own log shipping solution
            b. Third party products such as Dbvisit Standby

Note that with Oracle Standard Edition, RAC is a free option. You can have up to maximum of 4 sockets in your RAC cluster on Standard Edition (cores are not counted).
