Can one do the following:
Open cursor XYZ
from table1, table2
where table1.key = table2.key;
I want/need to select fields (d and e) from another procedure that is determined from fields a and b, and all 5 fields (a,b,c, d and e) are returned in the cursor (which will be used in VB.net)
I'm using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 126.96.36.199.0 - 64bit Production
You cannot call a stored procedure from a SELECT statement.
If SP_ANOTHER_PROC is simply returning data, however, it should not be defined as a stored procedure. It should be defined as, most likely, two different stored functions (and/or one stored function that returns a composite type). You can call stored functions from a SELECT statement presuming they meet the other criteria (the function cannot modify the state of the database, for example, and it cannot have OUT parameters (though it must return a value)).
