    Listener in ORACLE GRID STANDALONE

    802632
      Dear All,

      I am getting "listener support no services oracle" in lsnrctl status services.

      Can anybody provide step to database service in listener. This is standalone grid.

      I am able to create a listener using netmgr utitlity where i can provide a service name .

      But i want to try with local_listener parameter

      this command will update the oracle restart

      srvctl add listener -l LISTENER_ORCL -o /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_orcl -p "TCP:1522/IPC:ORCL"

      entry in tns

      LISTENER_ORCL =
      (DESCRIPTION =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac1(PORT = 1522))
      )

      alter system set LOCAL_LISTENER="LISTENER_ORCL" scope=spfile;

      but when i am doing lsnrctl status LISTENER_ORC it is giving no services.

      Where should i mention the db name ...

      Appreciate your help

      Thanks,
      Abdul

          Try to add SID_LIST_LISTENER in listener.ora and then restart the listener and share your output.

          Check for SID_LIST_LISTENER in below mentioned link

          http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/oracle-network-configuration.php

          Also do db register by below mentioned command

          SQL>alter system register;

            Thanks for your reply.

            I am able to connect to database using tns when i am creating listener using netmgr.

            But here i want to connect using local_listener parameter

            i followed http://blog.yannickjaquier.com/oracle/oracle-restart-and-listener-configuration.html link.

            listener is unable to find the the database service.

            Thanks,

              There is no sid present in listener.ora

              can any body provide sample lisetener.ora from grid standalone environment

              THanks,

                but when i am doing lsnrctl status LISTENER_ORC it is giving no services.
                Doing this
                alter system set LOCAL_LISTENER="LISTENER_ORCL" scope=spfile;
                will not update the running database instances, only the spfile. Therefore they will not register with your new listener. You need either to re-start the instances, or run the command again with scope=both.

                  I did this way.........................

                  listener.ora
                  ---------------
                  MY_LISTENER =
                  (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
                  (DESCRIPTION =
                  (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = host1.xyz.com)(PORT = 1521))
                  )
                  )

                  tnsnames.ora
                  -----------------
                  MY_LISTENER =
                  (DESCRIPTION =
                  (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = host1.xyz.com)(PORT = 1521))
                  )

                  SQL> show parameter local

                  NAME TYPE VALUE
                  ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
                  local_listener string MY_LISTENER
                  log_archive_local_first boolean TRUE
                  parallel_force_local boolean FALSE
                  SQL>

                  SQL> alter system register;

                  System altered.

                  SQL> exit
