No, I'm saying that if enterable was enabled, it wouldn't make sense to have the default search column different than the display column - it would just confuse people.
In a future release, I could allow you to "somehow" specify the default search column when enterable is not being used. I keep this in mind...
it would just confuse peopleNot necessarily. It depends on how you want to use it. Say my query returns columns 1,2,3,4,5 with 1,2 being return and display respectively. But I always search on column 4. Entering the search keyword in the field and popping up the LOV to execute the search on column 4 is way faster than popping it open, selecting Column 4 from the Search dropdown, typing in the search keyword and clicking Search. But I can see how might want to search by the display column too. So maybe this should be a user-configurable setting.
Speaking of Search, it would be great if we could search across all columns at once. Yet Another Setting!
specify the default search columnWell, this could be another setting or just use the first column specified in the Searchable Columns setting.
FYI since I want to search by the return value and not the display value, I worked around this by just changing the LOV query to construct the display value as return + display i.e. *30 MARKETING* instead of simply MARKETING
Thanks again for writing this plugin. It is one of the most well-designed pieces of software I have seen.
