The internet is full of answers. The APIs in OIM are specific to OIM. To interact with other targets, you will need to use the jndi or other ldap libraries.

I would like to confirm that there is NO way to unlock user resource account through OIM API (unix account, AD account, iPlanet account, etc) or using connector API.
Existing OIM API (UserManagement) can unlock/lock ONLY OIM user account.
In order to unlock/lock individual user resource account (unix, AD, iPlanet, etc) I would need to create custom code. For example, I could get connectivity information from AD IT Resource and then create custom code to set appropriate attributes in AD, similaly, for unix, execute "passwrd -u <accountname>".
I would appreciate it if you can confirm.
If the connector supports lock/unlock, you can create a trigger on the USR_LOCKED field but typically it's only disable/enable which sometimes is the same.
