I never run scripts from the operating system and rarely can I justifying anything in the shell but the best way to run a script, if you really need to, is to execute it using DBMS_SCHEDULER. Simple, secure, and easy to manage.
These are complicated ETL scripts that need to run on the db server. They perform sqlloader and other things that need to interface at OS level. They also need to connect as a number of different accounts so OS scripts are the best option for this situation. If anyone knows if this is possible it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
