Analog alarm clock- standalone desktop application using JavaFX

    995460
      Hi,

I want to make an analog clock as a standalone desktop application using Java. Looking at the scene builder for JavaFX, I am curious to know that is it possible to make my standalone desktop application using JavaFX? Have you been successful in making any desktop application using JavaFx?

Apart from this I am in urgent need for tutorials for JavaFX.

      Thanks

Funny thing is if you download the new samples pack @ openjdk for 8 there is an analog clock example, which is very nicely done.

There is one as part of the Ensemble sample:
            http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/samples/index.html "JavaFX 2 Sample Showcase"
a standalone desktop application using Java
            Instructions for this are here:
            http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/deployment/self-contained-packaging.htm "Self-Contained Application Packaging"

            Yes.
Here is a sample shell script which compiles and packages an app, creates a native installer, installs the app and runs the installed app (for OS X).
https://gist.github.com/jewelsea/5018976 "Shell script to package java code as a native OS X application."
(The sample is actually for a Swing app, but it uses JavaFX packaging tools and works just the same for a JavaFX app).
