Because it's discontinued. They never made a version for 64 bit, aren't going to, and never certified that the 32 bit version works in a 64 bit OS (though it generally does).

Just wait, it's likely that it won't be supported in Windows 8 at all.

Thanks Tridus, i know they never made a version for 64bit and not going to and i know its not certified. I need to know why its not supported, what is there in the 64bit OS thats not in the 32bit with regads to affecting the OLE, what is the technical answer/reason as to why they wont support it on the 64bit OS
    thanks

Because it's discontinued. There is no technical reason, which is why it typically works. They're just ditching it and don't want to deal with problems that might pop up on a platform it wasn't originally designed to work on.

(*Okay, I shouldn't say no technical reason. The x64 OS environment has massively different internals from the x86 version, and there's lots of things that could break it. In the end though it's a business decision to not support the x86 version on x64 OS, not a technical one.)
