In ORACLE BI ANSWERS I have a report that has a column called "TradeDiscount"
which has its own formula, and is set to be a percentage value.
The values we see are something like:
Company A 6,15%
Company B 98,6%
When I EXPORT TO EXCEL, in the excel file I find values like:
Phil *2214*29940504723093,00% <- same 4 numbers as above + ,00 added + % symbol kept
John *3.20*45176151761086 <- same first numbers as above + dot instead of comma + % symbol disappeared
Company A 6.155624624562462442
Company B 98624564225662446,00%
I tried this:
mso-number-format:"0" --to get rid of the decimals
mso-number-format:"/@" --to treat it as text
both in column properties->style-> use css style
and also with a HTML tag in the column formula.
Does it make sense??? I don't know what else I could try.. Or what I did wrong, as I think I followed your suggestions..
Use mso-number-format:"Percent" Percent - two decimals else
mso-number-format:"0%" Percent - no decimals
Let me know.
Unluckly none of them work..
Any other ideas on how to pass the data from OBIEE to Excel with out having crazy values??
Or any idea on how to make this method work??
All my thankfulness..
I got why it's not working!!
The server is, and has to be, in English,
while, as we are in Italy, the computers of the users of Oracle BIEE Answers are in Italian.
When we export from Answers to Excel, we get lost in translation,
as excel uses the data format of Windows, which is in Italian.
If I change the language of Oracle BI Answers, nothing changes, I still have the same issue.
Does anyone know ho to tell to Answers not only to visualize, but also to export the data with specific national formats???
I tried to set my windows in US English, and the export worked perfectly.
I cannot change the settings of all the computers of the company, though.
Does anyone know how to change the settings of the data formats IN EXCEL without changing WINDOWS formats??
Looks like a bug, isn't your locale setting from My Account > Preferences working ? did you log an SR with Oracle .?
Follow these note : OBIEE 11g: Percentage Measures Displayed Incorrectly in Pivot Table Using French Language or Some Other Non-English language [ID 1364033.1]
Bug 12546862 : PIVOT TABLE 'PERCENT OF COLUMN' DATA DISPLAY BADLY WHEN LOGGED IN TURKISH
Also check if this patch would have any effect with your issue : Patch 12849627: MERGE REQUEST ON TOP OF 220.127.116.11.0 FOR BUGS 12685611 12632151
Hope this helps. Mark if it does.
What's an SR??
No, if I change the local settings in the preferences nothing changes.
Also, I googled your suggestions but only found our dialog in the results.. Were they meant to be links?
Thanks again, SSVS.. Your help is precious.
