I have 2 Adapters for the Oracle Linux 5.8 Vbox, one is Interal Network, the other Bridged Adapter.
But when I check it within OL, I see these
[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:27:C8:DF:01
inet6 addr: fe80::a00:27ff:fec8:df01/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:1 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:35 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
RX bytes:243 (243.0 b) TX bytes:7338 (7.1 KiB)
I do accept 'eth1' as it is already the allocated IP by my ISP. How to assign one static IP, like 192.168.168.4, to eth0, and also to have the same DNS for this OL Vbox, as the Win 2008 server, that is with IP like 192.168.168.10, residing in the same network.
You will probably want to setup a NAT adapter with DHCP (mandatory) for outgoing connections and a host-only Adapter with a fixed IP address for incoming connections. If you need help with VirtualBox I suggest http://forums.virtualbox.org.
