Hello,

1) Is there any need of online redo log files in the standby Database?

2) Are there any differences between ORL and SRL?

3) At what stage do the Online Redo Logs get created on the standby database?

With regards

Really not necessary and they wont use too in case of standby role, In case of Switchover the role will be changed from standby to primary. Then it is necessary.
    2) Are there any differences between ORL and SRL?
Yes, They are specific to DATABASE_ROLE based, You will have Online redo log files and you can have standby redo log files on Primary.
Of course Standby redo logs in primary wont be used, they will be created to avoid steps to perform after performing switchover.
    3) At what stage do the Online Redo Logs get created on the standby database?
If you perform RMAN duplciate, then ORLs/SRL's will be created automatically, if you use RMAN casual restore then you have to create manually.
If you perform failover then database opens with resetlogs, then according to the location of control file those files also created

Does "duplicate target database for standby" command create ORL on standby database?
