Is it possible to run a proxy controller without it listening for snmp traps?
We have a private network segment, which has a particular machine as the gateway to all our ILOM type stuff.
I installed the proxy controller on this machine, and it works great for triggering automatic net boot for our "sun" OEM'd server hardware, and thus doing installs.
Only trouble is, I didnt realize that opscenter tries to grab the SNMP port for monitoring.
This conflicts with our pre-existing enterprise monitoring solution, from another vendor.
is there a way to disable it taking port 162?
I dont see a way mentioned in the docs, or in the GUI
Can you see, on another system where there is no conflict, which process is trying to put a UDP 162 into listen state? You may be able to find a way to blacklist that process from spawning by commenting it out of the init scripts, etc. ~BAS
