      Hi All,
      My requirement is to validate only level 1 and 2 validations and ignore remaining 3 through 7. we are using HIPAA 834 and 820 outbound.

      I tried supressing in $ORACLE_HOME/soa/thirdparty/edifecs/XEngine/config SeverityConfig.xml

      <ApplyTo>
      <Criteria Name="emp.snip" Value="3"/>
      <SetSeverity SeverityID="0"/>
      </ApplyTo>
      <ApplyTo>
      <Criteria Name="emp.snip" Value="4"/>
      <SetSeverity SeverityID="0"/>
      </ApplyTo>
      <ApplyTo>
      <Criteria Name="emp.snip" Value="5"/>
      <SetSeverity SeverityID="0"/>
      </ApplyTo>
      <ApplyTo>
      <Criteria Name="emp.snip" Value="6"/>
      <SetSeverity SeverityID="0"/>
      </ApplyTo>
      <ApplyTo>
      <Criteria Name="emp.snip" Value="7"/>
      <SetSeverity SeverityID="0"/>
      </ApplyTo>

      Please help me how to turn onn level 1 and 2.
      Thanks in advance

          You seem to be doing it correctly. Have you bounced the SOA server(s) after making change in SeverityConfig.xml? If no then please do so and run a test again. BTW, exactly which version of B2B are you working with (11.1.1.6 or lower)?

          Regards,

            Anuj,

            We are using Oracle 11g 11.1.1.1.6. We tried testing after restarting the server but it is not validating against level 1 and level 2 validation errors.
            Please help me on this if you have any suggestions.

            Thanks

              Level 1 testing validates the basic syntactical integrity of the EDI and Level 2 validates HIPAA implementation guide-specific syntax requirements. Both type of errors are reported using X12 Standard 997 and/or 999, or TA1.
              but it is not validating against level 1 and level 2 validation errors.
              Can you provide more details on how you found that Level 1 and Level 2 validation is not working?

              Regards,
              Anuj

                Hi Anuj,

                I was not aware that 997/999 would provide the acknowledgement back on the level 1 and level 2 validations in my case. I thought b2b would show in reports itself.
                Can you please help me out how exactly i need to configure 997/999 to catch the validation errors.

                Thanks

                    I thought b2b would show in reports itself.
                    In reports, B2B will show that message failed in validation but it may or may not display the details of failure.
                    how exactly i need to configure 997/999 to catch the validation errors.
                    Like you configure any other X12 document, just configure 997 (create the 997 doc, add it in remote TP profile, deploy the 997 agreement) and in the corresponding request agreement select the checkbox "Functional Ack" and select "Yes" in the drop-down "FA Handled by B2B".
