ORA-12154: FORMS 10G

I am able to connect to the database using sqldeveloper (this is not using tnsnames) but I get the error when I tried to connect on forms 10G. I have same tnsnames.ora copied from 6i. In forms 6i I was able to connect and compile my forms.

I have read/write access to devsuitehome folder.

I laso tried modifying path using set PATH=dir commands, including ORACLE_HOME.

What am I missing here?

    What is your database version ? both database and forms 10g are in the same machine ?
    can you post the tnsnames.ora file content from database ?
    You can find it at admin folder
    drive(c):\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\network\ADMIN

    Database i1 10G, it's on the server side. Forms is installed on my local machine (C:\DevSuiteHome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN).

    XXX.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = HODUNP52)(Port = 1530))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = XXX)
    )
    )

    above code is from database tnsnames.ora file ? If yes copy this to your C:\DevSuiteHome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN TNSNAMES.ORA file (replace everything)

    ORA-12154: wrong tns configuration.

    Hope it works..

    You are correct. I already copied that to my local folder. The thing is I have to put the .world which is not required when I connect with forms 6i.

    Thanks Hamid!
