1. There are various uses :
- You can use the Entreprise Manager Plugin for ODI to manage/monitor everything from your Entreprise Manager.
- You can use the JEE agent instead of standalone. Very good for High Availability, load balancing, monitoring, ... to quote Oracle, it "benefits from the features of an application server".
- You can use webservices
- You can install the ODI Console (webclient to see your ODI objects, launch/monitor execution, ...)
