One gives the information about the free space and the second about the data files. Did you really Google and didn't find anything useful to understand about the views?

Sreedhar, best way to understand is...try to install/create test db oracle 10g or 11gr2 on your machine..check it out what are the info it contains and make select statement try it on your test database machine ,view the results ...make practice you will understand what exactly those dictionary views rather than reading..

                sql>desc dba_free_space
                sql>desc ba_Data_files
                sql>desc dba_extents

                .

All the rdbms dictionary views are documented for you in the Oracle version# Reference manual:
                  http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25513/toc.htm

How Oracle organized objects into blocks, segments, data files and tablespaces is explained in the Oracle Concepts manual for your release
                  http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25789/logical.htm#i8531
