I have configured oracle 126.96.36.199 active data guard on linux.
First I had only on standby and when i queried on primary
SELECT PROCESS, SEQUENCE#, THREAD#, BLOCK#, BLOCKS,STATUS, TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') TIME FROM V$MANAGED_STANDBY WHERE PROCESS='MRP0';
i had the result Applying Log
Now I create a second standby and now the query returns no rows.
Instead of MRP0 now I have LNS instead at the process column.
Can sb please make me clear what is happening.
It looks like the configuration is working ok.
You said you ran this on the Primary. Managed Recovery Process handles the extraction of redo and coordinates the application of that redo on a physical standby database, not a primary function at all.
LNS is the LogWriter Network Service which captures redo data being written by Log Writer ( On the Primary ) and transmit the redo data to the standby.
Did you put 2nd standby in recovery mode? MRP process on standby will be only visible if the standby DB is put in recovery mode.
Sometimes even if you put standby in recovery mode, MRP process will not be visible since there might be some errors on standby site in which case you need to check alert.log on both primary and standby site.
