The code 245 can be vary, it also showing 247...etc
      Any idea?

I don't think the sendmail errors are responsible for the reboots, more like a symptom. It sais that you don't have enough (disk) space to start sendmail so maybe that same problem also causes the server to reboot. do you get the chance to log on even briefly or does it reboot instantly? Propably a good case for a failsafe boot. Btw the 245/247 is not a code but the process id of sendmail.

          cheers

            Hi bjoern,

the server didn't reboot instantly but it will reboot itself after sometime of log on.
Did you mean the (disk) space is not enough, i check the disk space is still available. Probably the swap space of the application?

that is just the partition table and does not say anything about space usage. Try "df -h"

there are still many swap space available, only used for 40

                # df -k
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
                /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 16404230 2330839 13909349 15% /
                /proc 0 0 0 0% /proc
                fd 0 0 0 0% /dev/fd
                swap 2310208 40 2310168 1% /tmp

How to capture the fault error log during the reboot? The system did not go to OS level but hang at OK prompt after reboot.
Ultra 60 doesn't have any ALOM console.
I've been running SunVTS but could not get any result of it.

Any other suggestion to test out the system?

                Many Thanks.

If you find the system at the ok prompt, you should be able to type "sync" to get it to force a crash dump, which will appear in /var/crash/<hostname> a short while after the system boots. That crash dump can be used by support to figure out why the system ended up at the ok prompt. You may get enough information to make a search of MOS practical by looking at the kernel message buffer from the time leading up to the crash.

                  cd /var/crash/`hostname`
                  ls
                  echo ::msgbuf | mdb -k 0

Change 0 to the highest number of unix.* and vmcore.* files you see in that directory.

Note that this seems to have nothing to do with zones. There are "Solaris 9" and "Solaris 10" forums that may be more appropriate for this question.

                    hi Gerdts,

I try as what you said to generate the crash dump but i can not find any files in the /var/crash/ and no such directory was generated.
Could it be dumping somewhere other than var/crash? I try to create the var/crash folder manually but still not able to get it

Solaris 2.6 is so ancient I forget what tricks are needed to enable a place for core files.
I vaguely recall that they were not enabled by default.

                      Here: try this...

I finally manage to turn on the coredump setup.
now i have the unix.0 and vmcore.0 files.

                        # ls
                        bounds unix.0 vmcore.0

after run # echo ::msgbuf | mdb -k 0 nothing was found, any idea to check on that files?

*seems my modular debugger are not there...

                        Thanks
