    Broker configuration with multiple networks

      Hi,

I'm configuring Dataguard 10g defining all parameters with TNS alias: FAL_CLIENT, FAL_SERVER, SERVICE option in LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST, LOCAL_LISTENER and REMOTE_LISTENER.

Once configured without Broker, all is working great. But defining DG_BROKER_START to TRUE I can see this messages on the DG log:

DG 2012-09-13-15:32:37 0 2 0 RSM Warning: the connect identifier '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=blsalutorcl316-vip)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=blsalutorcl216-vip)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=blsalutorcl215-vip)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=orcl10g_XPT.cspt.es)(SERVER=dedicated)))' of the primary site 'orcl10g' exceeds the individual string limit of 255 while setting fal_server parameter.
      DG 2012-09-13-15:32:37 0 2 0 Using InitialConnectIdentifier instead
      DG 2012-09-13-15:32:37 0 2 0 Executing SQL [ALTER SYSTEM SET fal_server='orcl10g']
      DG 2012-09-13-15:32:37 0 2 0 SQL [ALTER SYSTEM SET fal_server='orcl10g'] Executed successfully
      DG 2012-09-13-15:32:37 0 2 0 Executing SQL [ALTER SYSTEM SET fal_client='(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=oracspt1-vip.cspt.es)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=orcl10d_XPT.cspt.es)(INSTANCE_NAME=orcl10d1)(SERVER=dedicated)))']
      DG 2012-09-13-15:32:37 0 2 0 SQL [ALTER SYSTEM SET fal_client='(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=oracspt1-vip.cspt.es)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=orcl10d_XPT.cspt.es)(INSTANCE_NAME=orcl10d1)(SERVER=dedicated)))'] Executed successfully

The primary site has two public networks so TNS alias includes two IP addresses, this wouldn't be a problem if the Broker doesn't change the TNS alias for the complete connection string.

Also seems that, not satisfied with that, modifies FAL_SERVER and FAL_CLIENT parameters with connection chains built by himself instead of using the alias.

Working with connection strings if not for that:
      - There is a limit of 255 characters in the parameter values
      - It seems that the Broker only uses the first IP address set in the alias to configure LOCAL_LISTENER in the Broker configuration.

Anyone knows how configure alias in the DG configuration or avoid the Broker "resetting" operations?

      Thanks in advance!
