hai all
version 10.2.0.

I am trying to take back up of archive logs on my database


rman target /
RMAN> backup archivelog all;

Starting backup at 06-APR-13
using channel ORA_DISK_1
specification does not match any archive log in the recovery catalog
backup cancelled because all files were skipped
Finished backup at 06-APR-13

rman>exit
sqlplus / as sysdba
alter system switch logfile when ever i fire this command its is hanging like in this
way
sql>alter system switch logfile;



then i typed ctrl+c

how to over come this situation
my database is in archive log mode

SQL> archive log list;
Database log mode Archive Mode
Automatic archival Enabled
Archive destination /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/oradata/data/arch/
Oldest online log sequence 10
Next log sequence to archive 10
Current log sequence 12

    Hello;

    Check to make sure this exists :
     /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/oradata/data/arch/
    If yes check the permissions to write to it and available space on the mount point.

    Also this version 10.2.0. is incomplete, you are missing a number. Use v$version to collect correct information.

    Could you show us your alert log file ?
    And is your version 10.2.0.x ? what is x ?

    With all due respect you are not using the forum very well. Try reading all the replies you get and closing (marking answered) old questions. What you are doing is opening multiple questions on the same topic, a shotgun method.
