but with the cursor of repopulate ...how the block is in desc by one field..because if i use again the same cursor to poulate than whats this benefits???
if i write a cursor in button when-button-trigger in first block like this code....
cursor emp_cur is
for i in cur loop
this loop populate the block which is controll block..
syntax error should be ignored ...i wana to explain what i want to do...
this is not the actual query i have another query but the concept is that...
how i can do this...
First question would be, why do you populate your block with a cursor and do build a database-block.
for ordering the data, you could add an ORDER BY to your cursor.
And lastly, your Cursor loop does not make sense. There is no need for another select inside the loop, you already selected your data in the cursor, simply assign your record values to the items, like
FOR rec IN cursor LOOP :BLOCK.ITEM:=rec.column; NEXT_RECORD; END LOOP;
u can use order by in ur cursor desc on population the details
ok thanx for your reply for is there any way to re order the block data after the cursor populate the block...
i means block is re order not the cursor????
why u do want reorder the block...? try using order by in block property ..
ORDER BY in the block property will only work when you have a database-block.
thats the problem that the block is control block...
and what you suggest me that how i candle the cursor select to populate the block..
And why don't you make a database-block out of it?
Definitely yes i do agree with u Andreas otherwise he has to work with cursor and sort whatever he want... i wonder what 's wrong with it ? ; why not trying to use it why?
If you can identify the item in the block, than you can do sorting by moving the item position x, y.. and i think it is not a good solution...
How will you move the x and y-position of multiple rows in a tabluar-form?
