I am also trying to make OBI apps 18.104.22.168 to work with OBIEE 22.214.171.124.
But after installing Apps not able to login into answers or Admin tool in Online RPD.
I took a back up of system-jazn-data.xml file before in installing Apps (File size around 417 KB).
after installing OBI apps the file system-jazn-data.xml was taken as back up in directory C:\Middleware\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig and a new big file with same name (1291 KB) was replaced. and this was causing issue.
so i restored back the original smaller size file and was able to login into answers.
But the issue here is all the required user roles and privileges that comes pre built with OBI apps are not getting restored into default LDAP server and hence no use of this work around. Please provide guidance if any solution is there to this issue?
Did lots of google but no solution is available. Have read whole documentation, tried restoring language specific .....ldif file followed by corresponding system-jazn-data.xml copy and GUID refresh, nothing works.

try to revert 'system-jazn-data'
if u have old 'system-jazn-data' than
1- I copied Old file *'system-jazn-data'* from my Backup (i took backup before installing BI Apps 126.96.36.199)
2- and Past into folder "C:\Oracle_BI1\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig" (infact i replace with old file)
3- Re-started BI Servers.
4- tried with 'weblogic' user
u should login.
There is a different issue here. BI Applications 188.8.131.52 comes with a jazn file in the wrong format for 184.108.40.206.

This document describes how to install Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 22.214.171.124 on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 126.96.36.199.0. It discusses the following two issues and how to address them:
Issue 1: The Oracle Business Intelligence Application 188.8.131.52 installer fails on Oracle BI EE 184.108.40.206.0 with the error “NQSConfig.INI not found. Please make sure your environment is set up properly”.
Issue 2: The Oracle Business Intelligence Application 220.127.116.11 JAZN file is incompatible with BI EE 18.104.22.168.0. This causes authentication failures when a user tries to log in to the Analytics page.

Folks, the only way I've been able to get a clean install of 22.214.171.124 on 126.96.36.199.0 has been:
1. Install 188.8.131.52.0
2. Apply Maintenance pack 184.108.40.206.5+ (in my case I did 220.127.116.11.8)
3. Apply 18.104.22.168 to 22.214.171.124.8
4. Upgrade 126.96.36.199.8 to 188.8.131.52.0
This is what Oracle support suggested, and it worked, but it doubles the time to build an environment I can't believe Oracle haven't provided a new 184.108.40.206 installer yet.
