          Hi,

          http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10595/schema003.htm

          http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/reclaiming-unused-space.php

What is the total size of your datafiles?

do you have backup or anyother files on e drive?

          Regards
          Yoonas

1)size of datafiles is 16 gb which exist in XE folder including controlfile.

2)i have an old backup of 10 gb , but this is an old bakup after that i have reduced some space around 3 gb . so next bakup will be of less size. but there is few mb space available on my e: drive to take backup.

total space taken by oraclexe is 28 gb.

            yours sincerely

Hope you have gone through the links i had posted.
If you have only 3gb data from the 16gb you can reclaim unused space, see this link also http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:54178027703899

if you want to just free up some space on e drive move your back up to a different drive.
