    Vision Instance Reduce Data

    560669
      Hi

I am using the vision instance for almost 6 years the size is almost 300 - 400 gb in total, I like to do the following

      1. make a VM for the vision instance since the size is big 300 - 400 gb vm is not adviseable

      2. I wanted to purge the records which are more than 5 years so that my size is reduced and I have a VM with a reasonable size

      3. I wanted to install a new vision instance with a minimum data (eg 1 org , 1 sob, 100 invoices(ap,ar,po etc.), 80 items etc...

Let me know if it is possible.

      Regards
      Yram

You can either do a fresh installation (see the links under question 3) or use aVM template http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/vm/ebs-093153.html

            Hi Yram,

If you attempt something here a couple of other things you might like to research / try and advise results:
Export / Import into 11g database with:
            1. Deferred segment creation (so tables with 0 rows don't take any space)
            2. Advanced compression

            Regards,
            Gareth
