The Diff Report tab's toolbar should have a small green icon with the letters "SQL" in the upper left corner. Click on it and save the generated SQL for the diff wherever you wish.
Also, keep in mind you are on one of the interim versions between 3.1 and 3.2.20.09.87 production. You should considering upgrading.
I was really hoping that there was something which listed the differences between two schemas and only the differences.
eg for something like a changed view I was hoping to be able to have a file which listed me what the difference was between the old view and the new view. eg exactly what you get when you click on a view when the definition has changed.
I know that all the information is there, because otherwise you wouldn't be able to display it. And all I want is a way of saving these differences to a text file.
Waiting to see if there is a way we can have differences listed to a text file

if there is a way we can have differences listed to a text fileThere really is not at this point. In the SQL Developer Exchange...
there is a feature request you can view titled "Diff Files: save output to file/PDF"
it is in an Accepted state but there has been no activity toward implementing it as far as I know. The next best thing at this point would be to use View -> Cart to create a cart for each schema, save them as xml files, then use some external XML diff utility to see differences. Unfortunately I believe the detail of data stored in each cart only goes down to the object level (like table name, package name, etc) without including things like column names, constraints, PL/SQL code, etc. So any external diff of the carts would be of very limited value. I would recommend voting for the above-mentioned feature request.
