query running slow

Hi,
I am running an update query which taking more time any help to run this fast.
update arm538e_tmp t
set t.qtr5 =(select (sum(nvl(m.net_sales_value,0))/1000) from
mnthly_sales_actvty m
where m.vndr#=t.vndr#
and m.cust_type_cd=t.cust_type
and m.yymm between 201301 and 201303
group by m.vndr#,m.cust_type_cd;

help will be appreciable
