I have just installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 64 bit on HP DL380e G8 server. Becouse this server have no DVD, an USB DVD drive was used for installation purpose.
Now, when the server is booting I see this message at the beginning of OS starting:
stabilized: stat /proc/bus/usb/devices: No such file or directory
After that, OS continues starting and finally starts succesfullу.
It seems like information about DVD drive was added somewhere by OS installer, and now, when DVD drive not attached, OS tries to find it anyway.
So my question is quite simple: what do I have to do?
I have already checked fstab, it contents nothing about DVD drive.
Are you using the RHEL kernel or Oracle UEK? You could try to switch the kernel in the GRUB boot menu to see if it makes any difference. Otherwise, the problem can also be due to a firmware bug. I suggest to check the HP support site to verify your BIOS is up to date.
