Hi,

I did a customization to a seeded jsff and am trying to run the associated JSPX file from Jdev. But I am getting the below error when I try to run the associated JSPX file from Jdev.

    I don't think I have seen that error before. I know, though, that there is an appstrace-related packaging issue with the standalone WLS in Release 4, so this might be similar/related. The basic issue seems to be that your application expects appstrace to be deployed, but it isn't.

    Can you let is know what version of Fusion Apps you are using and what ear file in particular it is that you're using in the customization.

    Thanks,
    Oliver

    Thanks Oliver for the response.

    My Fusion Apps version is Release 5. And the EAR file that I used to customize is EarHcmBenefits.ear.
    After the customization, below are the steps that I took to deploy/test the changes in Integrated weblogic server.

    1. In the 'Run--> MDS' page of Application properties wizard, set the MAR profile(auto generated by the Jdeveloper for my application)
    2. Deployed 'oracle.apps.common.resource.ear' as a library in the Integrated weblogic server
    3. Selected the JSPX file from the 'Customizable Archive'. Right click and Run.

    Please let me know if I am missing something.

    Thanks,

    I have not seen this issue on integrated or on standalone release 5. Can you confirm:
    <li>MW_HOME/oracle_common/modules/oracle.appstrace_11.1.1 --> does this exist and what does it contain
    <li>MW_HOME/oracle_common/common/templates/applications/oracle.appstrace_template.jar --> does this exist
    <li>MW_HOME/jdeveloper/common/templates/applications/oracle.applcore.adrs_11.1.1_template.jar --> does this exist
    <li>What does the template-info.xml contained in the oracle.applcore.adrs_11.1.1_template.jar have between the "<dependency>" tags ?

    Assuming the dependencies do not contain
    >
    <requires name="Oracle AppsTrace logging for ADF Fusion Applications" colocated="true"/>
    >

    you would need to manually install:
    >
    MW_HOME/oracle_common/modules/oracle.appstrace_11.1.1/oracle.appstrace.model.ear
    MW_HOME//oracle_common/modules/oracle.appstrace_11.1.1/oracle.appstrace.webapp.war
    >
    To manually install:
    1. Start the integrated WLS
    2. Navigate to Deployments and choose to install
    3. Install both files as shared libraries, use names "oracle.appstrace.model" and "oracle.appstrace.webapp"

    Here are my comments: -

    <li>MW_HOME/oracle_common/modules/oracle.appstrace_11.1.1 --> does this exist and what does it contain
    MW_HOME/oracle_common/modules/oracle.appstrace_11.1.1 exists and it contains the following: -
    appstrace.jar
    oracle.appstrace.model.ear
    oracle.appstrace.webapp.war

    <li>MW_HOME/oracle_common/common/templates/applications/oracle.appstrace_template.jar --> does this exist
    Yes

    <li>MW_HOME/jdeveloper/common/templates/applications/oracle.applcore.adrs_11.1.1_template.jar --> does this exist
    Yes

    <li>What does the template-info.xml contained in the oracle.applcore.adrs_11.1.1_template.jar have between the "<dependency>" tags ?
    <requires name="Oracle WebCenter Custom Portal Data Sources" colocated="true"/>
    <requires name="Oracle Application Core (CommonDSTgt)" colocated="true"/>

    Since template-info.xml does not have the dependency that you mentioned, I will go ahead and deploy the suggested files as shared libraries.

    Thanks,

    Hi Jani,

    I added the libraries and the above error did not occur. However I came across "Unmarshaller" error, which I fixed by following the thread, Unmarshaller failed exception when running HcmCompWorkbenchWorkArea.jspx
    Now I see a different error when I try to run the page. Can you please check.

    To debug can you go to "Web Content->WEB-INF->web.xml" and comment out the servlet and the references to it. Do note that you may get the same exception for other servlets, comment out each.

    I commented the references of 'RESTfulAPIServlet' in web.xml and tried running the page again. But I am getting the below error. I checked and figured that there are no references of 'AppsTraceSession' in web.xml

    Another exception that I have not seen before.. Can you confirm your JDeveloper and EAR version ?
    Searched through internal systems and the only reference I found was where the Appstrace.jar was not included on the system classpath. It should be added to the system classpath when the appstrace template is applied however since we manually applied the applications directly instead of the template seems it is not included. I am not sure if its enough to add it to your project, you might need to add it to the classpath in "setDomainEnv.cmd" script under the DefaultDomain. At the end add something like
    >
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;MW_HOME\oracle_common\modules\oracle.appstrace_11.1.1\appstrace.jar
    >
    note if you are using Linux change the syntax as needed

    Hi,

    Fyi, After settingup the Jdeveloper for Fusion Apps, I tested the Jdev setup successfully following the notes in the DeveloperGuide.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    For the above error, I commented the references of oracle.as.scheduler.RuntimeServiceRemote and oracle.as.scheduler.MetadataServiceRemote(I got an error for this EJB also) in web.xml.
    When I tried to run the page then, the deployment got completed and the browser is opened for the page, but got the below exception when the page is loaded.

    For the version of the EAR, or rather Fusion Applications, navigate to the page to be customizes in the production environment where the EAR was obtained from and select "Help->About Application" you should see version number.
    For the ClassCastException does the problem UI contain a portlet ?

    Hi Jani,

    The page fragment that I customized is 'BenefitsServiceCenter.jsff' and associated UI is "ElectionsUIShell.jspx".
    I can see the taskflow, 'ElectionsSingleContextFlow' is added as a region to the UI.

    <af:region value="#{bindings.ElectionsSingleContextFlow1.regionModel}" id="r1"/>

    Thanks,
