What parameters are you referring to?
You must have entered some parameters in SQL Developer to create the connection.
How do I find out the hostname, port, and sid of my db? Sorry, I'm new to this.
The hostname is the machine it is installed on. The port is the port you specified when you created the listener. The sid is the name you provided when you created the database.

These should all be visible in the lsnrctl status output.

          Parameters:

          Connection name: dbhome_2 Connection
          Username: system
          Password: "password"

          Hostname: localhost (default)
          Port: 1521 (default)
          SID: dbhome_2

In terms of the lsnrctl status, this is what you're referring to right?

dbome_2 is not the sid, it is a name for the installation directory.

            Your sid is orcl.

It also looks as if your listener is listening on 1522, not 1521.

Thank you very much! This would have been resolved long ago had I known where to look for what I needed.
