ORA-29921: Ancillary operator not supported with set view query block

We've ercently upgraded our DB from 9.2.0.8 to 11.2.0.2.0...and running into this exception for our Text search query:

ORA-29921: Ancillary operator not supported with set view query block
Cause: Outer view query block contains ancillary operator and view query block contains union all.
Action: Define the union-all view query to contain the primary and ancillary query terms. i.e. have the operators within the view definition rather than in the query outside the view.

We're using the score operator with a contains in a query performing an inner join between two tables. The query is also hierarchical, using connect by prior....

Removing the connect by prior clause clears the exception, and the query returns results, (improper hierarchy however). Anyone know if this is a known issue in 11gr2? This was working in 9.2.0.8 ...

I figured i'd ask before trying to produce a simple test case...

      Thanks for the info
