    Power cetner 9.1 HF2, windows 8, Informatics services not restarting.

      Hi,

      It's a repost, i posted it a few hours back on a old and dead thread but no reply so posting it in new thread.

      I have installed informatica 9.1.0 HF2 a few days back.
      Issue i am facing is once my services are down, by any reason ( intentional restart of machine or restart of services) ....Informatica services doesn't come up again. It start for a few moments and goes down. I have checked my Path environment variable , initials of which is

      C:\Informatica\9.1.0\clients\tools\datadirect;
      C:\Informatica\9.1.0\clients\DeveloperClient\bin;
      C:\Informatica\9.1.0\clients\java\jre\bin\server;
      C:\Informatica\9.1.0\java\jre\bin\server;
      C:\Informatica\9.1.0\tools\datadirect;
      C:\Informatica\9.1.0\DataTransformation\bin;
      C:\app\yogendra\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin;

      i checked catalina.out file having messages for each failed attempt as

      Cannot start node due to the error: [[JSFS_0006] Cannot read nodemeta.xml file. Run infasetup command to create or repair the file]
      Calling catalina's Bootstrap.main method to stop tomcat.
      Cannot start node due to the error: [[JSFS_0006] Cannot read nodemeta.xml file. Run infasetup command to create or repair the file]
      Calling catalina's Bootstrap.main method to stop tomcat.
      Cannot start node due to the error: [[JSFS_0006] Cannot read nodemeta.xml file. Run infasetup command to create or repair the file]
      Calling catalina's Bootstrap.main method to stop tomcat.
      so to avoid install each time i create a database user and run the command like

      infasetup.bat definedomain -da hp:1521 -du Informatica_node -dp Informatica_node -dt ORACLE -ds sysdba -dn domain1_hp -ld C:\Informatica\9.1.0\logs -nn node01_hp -na hp:6006 -mi 6005 -ma 6105 -AdministratorName Administrator -Password Administrator -rf C:\Informatica\9.1.0\isp\bin\nodeoptions.xml

      and then the whole process of repository service, integration service and some trial mappings till my services go down again.

      Please help. Thanks for reading the long post.

          Check underlying database is up and running...

          if it is not thenbring it up and then try starting services.

            Yes it's running, i can connect to database using SQL developer, toad, sqlplus .

            tnsnames entries are

            SYSDBA =
            (DESCRIPTION =
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hp)(PORT = 1521))
            (CONNECT_DATA =
            (SERVER = DEDICATED)
            (SERVICE_NAME = sysdba)
            )
            )

            part of listener file is

            LISTENER =
            (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
            (DESCRIPTION =
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hp)(PORT = 1521))
            )
            )
            also lsnrctl command show only one host (HP). so nothing wrong with database.
            In windows hostfile i have an entry

            10.10.10.10 hp

            OBIEE 11..7 is also installed on this machine only and absolutely working fine.

              Check this,

              Cause
              This error occurs when there are inconsistencies for the domain name in between node settings and domain tables.

              Solution

              To resolve this issue, do either of the following:

              1. Update the node configuration by running the infasetup updateGatewayNode command with -dn option
              2. Re-define the domain by running the infasetup definedomain command.

              Mark correct or helpful if it helps,

                Thanks Veeresh for the help and your valuable time. I really appreciate it.
                Issue is each time i run infasetup command to define a new domain my services start and sustain. i have created mappings, executed the workflow and could transform data from source to target.
                but once the machine goes into sleep mode or restart or the informatica services services stop it won't start again at all.

                so everytime if services go down or machine restart i have to create a new domain, rep service, inegration service and so on. that doesn't seem to be a workable solution.

                i have chekced windows event viewer too, event viewer also points to catalina.out file only.

                i have given full control permission to C:/informatica/9.0.1 to all users. still no solution :(.

                  Do not create new domain..

                  Do you remember what is the domain name,Rep service,Integ service you created earlier for the first time ?(Any screenshot u took?...) Update the same information just dont create any new domains.

                  Let me know the results,

                  Regards,

                    Veeresh,

                    Since nodemeta.xml is still there in isp/config folder i can get all of that information from there

                    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
                    <imx:IMX xmlns:imx="http://com.informatica.imx" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" serializationSpecVersion="4.0" crcEnabled="0" xmlns:domainservice="http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.domainservice/2" versiondomainservice="2.4.1" xmlns:common="http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.common/2" versioncommon="2.2.0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://com.informatica.imx IMX.xsd http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.domainservice/2 com.informatica.isp.metadata.domainservice.xsd http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.common/2 com.informatica.isp.metadata.common.xsd">
                    <domainservice:GatewayNodeConfig imx:id="U:JEz9GLGtEeKlY1CzJDrYeg" adminconsolePort="६००८" adminconsoleShutdownPort="६०१०" domainName="domain2_hp" nodeName="node02_hp" dbConnectivity="ID_1">
                    <address imx:id="ID_2" xsi:type="common:NodeAddress" host="hp" httpPort="६००६" port="६००७"/>
                    <portals>
                    <NodeRef imx:id="ID_3" xsi:type="common:NodeRef" address="ID_2" nodeName="node02_hp"/>
                    </portals>
                    </domainservice:GatewayNodeConfig>
                    <domainservice:DBConnectivity imx:id="ID_1" dbEncryptedPassword="OgpwMmpxwvKUEViWVHp9lw%3D%3D" dbHost="hp" dbName="sysdba" dbPort="१५२१" dbType="ORACLE" dbUsername="info_rpd"/>
                    </imx:IMX>

                    now rpd information is there in repository manager, and integration service i still remember since it was simple (First_rep, First_int).

                    but question now is how do i update it????????????????

                    i ran following command

                    infasetup.sh updateGatewayNode -DatabaseAddress in HP:1521 -DatabaseUserName info_rpd -DatabasePassword info_rpd -DatabaseType oracle -DatabaseServiceName sysdba -DomainName domain2_hp -NodeName node02_hp -NodeAddress in HP:6006 -LogServiceDirectory C:\Informatica\9.1.0\tomcat\logs

                    but it just ended up in miliseconds showing no results no error no message at all on command prompt.

                    so not sure how to update the node information. Any other suggestion or flaw in the process i just did?
                    thanks,

                      Veeresh,

                      just click one idea, the port numbers in nodemeta.xml were in HINDI charachters which informatica services were not able to read just modified the nodemeta.xml for right kind of number of numbers e.g. database port is now 1521, adminconsole port is now 6006. and here is modified nodemeta.xml

                      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
                      <imx:IMX xmlns:imx="http://com.informatica.imx" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" serializationSpecVersion="4.0" crcEnabled="0" xmlns:domainservice="http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.domainservice/2" versiondomainservice="2.4.1" xmlns:common="http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.common/2" versioncommon="2.2.0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://com.informatica.imx IMX.xsd http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.domainservice/2 com.informatica.isp.metadata.domainservice.xsd http://com.informatica.isp.metadata.common/2 com.informatica.isp.metadata.common.xsd">
                      <domainservice:GatewayNodeConfig imx:id="U:JEz9GLGtEeKlY1CzJDrYeg" adminconsolePort="6008" adminconsoleShutdownPort="6010" domainName="domain2_hp" nodeName="node02_hp" dbConnectivity="ID_1">
                      <address imx:id="ID_2" xsi:type="common:NodeAddress" host="hp" httpPort="6006" port="6007"/>
                      <portals>
                      <NodeRef imx:id="ID_3" xsi:type="common:NodeRef" address="ID_2" nodeName="node02_hp"/>
                      </portals>
                      </domainservice:GatewayNodeConfig>
                      <domainservice:DBConnectivity imx:id="ID_1" dbEncryptedPassword="OgpwMmpxwvKUEViWVHp9lw%3D%3D" dbHost="hp" dbName="sysdba" dbPort="1521" dbType="ORACLE" dbUsername="info_rpd"/>
                      </imx:IMX>

                      and the set up is working fine, will test the same a few more times by services start, stop and machine start stop both. will let u know result.
                      that was a great help you did. Thanks a lot.
