    Cannot access APEX 4.2

    user100739
      Dear Friends,

I installed APEX 4.2 a few days ago. It seemed that the installation process went fine. If I execute the following query:

      SQL> SELECT STATUS FROM DBA_REGISTRY WHERE COMP_ID = 'APEX';

      STATUS
      -----------
      VALID

When I start the Apex Listener, apparently everything is fine. This is the output I get when I start the Apex Listener:

      [oracle@power710 apex_listener]$ /u02/app/oracle/java/jdk1.6.0_45/bin/./java -jar apex.war standalone –apex-images /u02/app/oracle/apex/images

But when I try to login either the apex_admin or apex, then I got the following error:

      http://localhost:8082/apex/apex_admin

      Error
      Error processing request.

ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error

      OK

I have tried for many days to solve this problem but I am almost convinced that APEX is not as easy as the documentation state.

      Please Help me out!!!

                Hi,

I recently filed bug #16760897. APEX 4.2.2 may show an ORA-06502: PL/SQL: NUMERIC OR VALUE ERROR if it gets a COOKIE http header that is empty. This could also be the problem here. Do you have access to My Oracle Support? A patch should already be available, you can search with the mentioned bug number.

                Regards,
                Christian

                  Hi,

I do have access to metalink. I will download and apply the patch you suggest me. Later, I will update you about the result.

                  Thanks
