when we put the cursor in text box and start typeing. if we give a pause of 5-10 seconds then its automatically gets selects.
this is very annoying. please find out me if its a technical problem.

What Java version do you have installed on your server and on your clients?

              Yash,
We're using the same Forms version, but still using Java 1.6.0_32. I haven't seen this behavior in our application. I know that was a bug in an earlier version of Java 6 (1.6.0) regarding cursor movement which is why I asked about your Java version.

Have you tried looking at the Java Console when this happens to see if there is any activity going on at the time this occurs? I recommend you set tracing to 5 in the Java Console and try and duplicate the issue to see what is written to the console.

I can't think of anything else to try. :(

                  Yash,
To display the Java Console, you must enable it in the in the Java Control Panel. To do this, open the Windows Control Panel and double-click the Java icon. Then go to the Advanced Tab and open the Java console node and select the "Show console" radio button. Then click OK. Make sure you have closed all browser sessions before you do this. Then start a new browser session and run your application. The Java Console will automatically be displayed. You will see a display similar to the following:
                  Java Plug-in 1.6.0_32
Using JRE version 1.6.0_32-b05 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
                  User home directory = C:\Documents and Settings\4fynb

                  ----------------------------------------------------
                  c:   clear console window
f:   finalize objects on finalization queue
                  g:   garbage collect
                  h:   display this help message
                  l:   dump classloader list
                  m:   print memory usage
                  o:   trigger logging
                  q:   hide console
                  r:   reload policy configuration
s:   dump system and deployment properties
                  t:   dump thread list
                  v:   dump thread stack
                  x:   clear classloader cache
0-5: set trace level to <n>
                  ----------------------------------------------------
Notice the last option, by typing a number 0 through 5 you change the trace level of the console. The default level is 0 (zero). By setting the level to 5, you will see a ton of trace information displayed in the console. Things like the HTTP GET and PUT as well as certificate checks and .jar loading.

In any case, once you have your form displayed, click on the Java Console and type the number 5 to enable the highest level of tracing. Try to keep the Java Console visible while you use your form to duplicate the issue. When you form selects all text in the field - look at the Java Console to see if there is any activity. The log activity might point to the cause.

Do you by chance have a Timer() in your form? If yes, when the When-Timer-Expired trigger fires, it could cause focus to leave your field. When focus returns, the text is selected.

                      Yash,
I noticed you are using Java Plug-in 1.6.0_25. Have you considered upgrading to the lastest supported version of Java 1.6 (1.6.0_45)? The presentation of your Form on the client is controlled by the client JRE so it is always best to have the more current supported version installed.

                        Hi,
i install the jre-6u45-windows-x64 , but application did not support it. application is automatically aski9ng to install the java 6 25 update.
after installing java 6 25 update, application run.

                        Thanks

That is because this is the 64-bit version of the JRE. You need to install the 32-bit version of the JRE unless you are using a 64-bit Browser.
