I've got a list of 205 schemas which i'd like to import using IMPDP for a migration. I've created a table with them in but can't think of a clever way of getting them into an impdp script short of copying them into notepad and pasting them in the impdp statement which is prone to error and boring!
How many schemas you have in your dump file?
Suppose you have 250 schemas in total and you wanna import 205. You would be better off switching logically your operation, instead of INCLUDING the 205 schemas, you could EXCLUDE the 45 remaining schemas, saving you a lot of work regarding data pump script.
Thanks for your answers guys. I'm actually excluding 400 or so.
I've worked it now thanks to Martin. Gave me inspiration.
I've written some pl/sql to open a cursor, read through the table and append each scema name to a variable to generate a long list of comma separated schema names. Then I just append the impdp commands to the beginning and end of this string and DONE :)
Bit crude but its a one of migration and it works!
Another way of doing this is some logic in the example i have here - if there is some way in SQL of identifiying the schemas you want?
