I'm installing OBIA 184.108.40.206.1 and got the following error while running the Business Analytics Applications Suite installer:
"INST-07515: oracle.bi.bishiphome is not found in the inventory
Install Oracle Business Intelligence"
The OBIEE is installed already. Matter of fact, oracle.bi.bishiphome.11_1_1_7_0.xml is available in the \Middleware\Oracle_BI1\inventory\ContentsXML\ConfigXML directory.
The installer proposes to install OBIA files in the Oracle_BI2 directory under the Middleware home. I tried to install in the Oracle_BI1 (the installation guide mentions) without luck.
OS is Windows Server 2008 R2. Reboot did not help.
Any suggestions on how to resolve the issue?

Are you specifying the JRE location along with the setup.exe command line?
What version of JVM are you using (should be 1.6.0_29 at least)?
The installation of the BI apps should be in the ORACLE_HOME defined at the Oracle BI installation step:
"Oracle Home Directory :
Specify the Oracle Home for BI, for example, Oracle_BI1. Do not specify any other Oracle home or choose to create a new one. The Oracle Home for BI directory is where the software binary files for Oracle BI Applications and Operational Planning Applications will be installed."
Hi Matthieu - thank you for replying.
I've tried running installer using jrockit_160_29_D1.2.0-10 and jdk160_29 oracle installed under \oracle\Middleware (e.g. "setup -jreLoc C:\oracle\Middleware\jdk160_29").
Yes, installing into Oracle_BI1, where OBIEE is already setup produces the same error.
FYI: While running the Oracle BI EE installer I selected the Software Only Install option and yes, the WebLogic Server 10.3.6 was installed before. According to the install guide the Software Only Install option is supported. However, the OBIA installer does not like something in the installed OBIEE ;)

Oracle helped me to resolve the issue right away. One should use 64-bit JDK to install ODI and OBIA (setup -jreLoc ). I used 32-bit JDK that Oracle installs under Middleware directory (\Middleware\jdk160_29). They will update the installation guide.
As soon as I uninstalled ODI and reinstalled it and OBIA using the 64-bit JDK the issue went away.
i m trying to complete but didn;t got success. when i reach to BI Apps analytics suite Configuration on 67% ODI Configuration gets fails in Inventory it is not showing error also checked Weblogic log didn't got error.
Installed OBIA & related components in the following Order
OS: Windows-2008 R2
1. Oracle Database 11gR2
1.2 Installed OBIEE 11g(220.127.116.11.0)
2. Oracle Fusion Middleware RCU11g(18.104.22.168.0)
3. ODI 11g(22.214.171.124.0) Using JDK 7 Update 21 for 64 Bits(ie jdk-7u21-windows-x64)
4. Applied RCU for Oracle BI Application 126.96.36.199.1)
### Till now No Error, all the stages completed Successful.
5. Installing Oracle BI Application(188.8.131.52.1) using JDK 7 Update 21 for 64 Bits(ie jdk-7u21-windows-x64)
The installer running for all most 3 Hours, No Progress in the (Showing 0% Progress) and Copying.....
We have doubted JDK/JRE version, So Cancelled installation.
Without uninstalling the JDK7, We installed JDK 6 with 45 Updates(ie.jdk-6u45-windows-i586) into different folder. Attempted to re-install the OBA 11g by specifying the JDK6 update 45 Path._
We get the error error INST-07515: oracle.bi.bishiphome is not found.
Right now, we are struck, no idea how to proceed further.
Forum support is required to resolve this hurdle.
Thanks in advance.
