    ORACLE 11g R2 SCAN LISTNER ISSUE

    1012031
      Hi,

      Suddenly the Oracle 11g r2 RAC scan listener was changed to intermediate state in our envrionment.
      How can we change state from intermediate to online state?

      please find the details as below,

      OS : HP Unix B.11.31
      DB Version: 11.2.0.3.0

      ora.LISTENER_SCAN1.lsnr
      1 ONLINE INTERMEDIATE Node2 CHECK TIMED OUT
      ora.LISTENER_SCAN2.lsnr
      1 ONLINE INTERMEDIATE Node1 CHECK TIMED OUT
      ora.LISTENER_SCAN3.lsnr
      1 ONLINE INTERMEDIATE Node1 CHECK TIMED OUT
      ora.LISTENER.lsnr
      ONLINE INTERMEDIATE Node1 CHECK TIMED OUT
      ONLINE ONLINE Node2

      If you need further information, kindly let me know.

      Thanks.

          CHECK TIMED OUT

          The crsctl stat res -t output show s the CHECK TIMED OUT status which implies that the agent had timed out checking the status of the scan_listener
          there are similar bugs which you can relate to but the work around is to restart the scan listener

          srvctl stop scan_listener
          srvctl start scan_listener

            Thanks for your reply.

            But i checked the listener status its showing for ONLINE.
            For same status is not updated the crsctl stat res -t. Kindly advise on this.

            $ srvctl status scan_listener
            SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN1 is enabled
            SCAN listener LISTENER_SCAN1 is running on node Node1
            SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN2 is enabled
            SCAN listener LISTENER_SCAN2 is running on node Node2
            SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN3 is enabled
            SCAN listener LISTENER_SCAN3 is running on node Node2
            $ srvctl status listener
            Listener LISTENER is enabled
            Listener LISTENER is running on node(s): Node1,Node2

              Hi,

              I have used for the below commands and giving the STATE output is different.

              Command-1:
              **********
              $ crsctl status res ora.LISTENER_SCAN2.lsnr
              NAME=ora.LISTENER_SCAN2.lsnr
              TYPE=ora.scan_listener.type
              TARGET=ONLINE
              STATE=INTERMEDIATE on Node1

              Command-2:
              **********
              $ crs_stat ora.LISTENER_SCAN2.lsnr
              NAME=ora.LISTENER_SCAN2.lsnr
              TYPE=ora.scan_listener.type
              TARGET=ONLINE
              STATE=ONLINE on Node1

              Thanks.
