Hi after 20 odd years of HPUX I finally ordered a bunch of T4's to replace the HP fleet - and downloaded the x86 flavour to play with on a laptop. I am pulling my hair out trying to create the key to work with a WEP wireless network.
The documentation says to use the command:
dladm create-secobj -c wep keyname
Fine - the subcommand then prompts for the key 5 or 13? bytes.
Now most keys are not going to be printable so the 5 byte option is out of the window so we need to resort to the 13 byte version.
So 0x0102030405 is 12bytes and is rejected with 'dladm: invalid secure object: Arg list too long.
Similarily if you drop off the 0x the key representation is only 10 characters and again is rejected.
If you incorporate an extra 0 eg: 0x00102030405 it is accepted but then the key is incorrect.
I am going mad - or am I just not reading the man page correctly.
