I have looked at the Java tutorials from Oracle and I am trying to learn Swing but can only find learning it in NetBeans. I have no knowledge in using this GUI but I am using BlueJ. Are there any tutorials for learning Swing components while using BlueJ?
At the moment I am studying for a Degree in Computing and Programming but have not yet been taught in designing user interfaces and dialogue boxes which is the main reason I would like to learn about Swing. I do not know if learning Swing is the only approach and if not, what other approaches are there?
Hi, there is only one chapter about NetBeans. Forget that, all other chapters are IDE neutral. You're mixing stuff here, for learning Swing you don't need an IDE. The tutorials never mention one, apart from that one chapter. All GUI editors in IDEs I've seen have produced more or less lousy code.
For using BlueJ specific stuff, you have to find a BlueJ forum.
