What is the DB Version you are using. If its 9i there is some restriction with Export/Import. remove the cluse fromuser/touser and then Try.
Are snapshots included in a typical export? Any other suggestions for locating the SQL defn?
You can user the dbms_metadata.get_ddl for the Sql definition, If your DB is in 10g and Above Version you can use the Datapump Export/Import.
If you are on version 10 or greater, you should use the metadata api.
SQL> select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('MATERIALIZED_VIEW', '<your_mview_name_here>', '<owner_of_mview_here>') from sys.dual;
Hope this helps.
Sorry, I missed the notification for this.
The snapshot is no longer in the database, only in the export. I'm using 11gR2.
Using from/to user was one of my last variations. I tried a full search and no snapshot information was found.
Did you also try full=y?
I did indeed, no success.

How old is the version you are trying to imp from - older versions would contain the "CREATE SNAPSHOT" DDL rather than "CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW".
Do you know what exp command created the dumpfile?
I've searched all variations "snapshot" "materialized" "(object name)"
Only references to the snapshot (colloquial term, easier to type) come up - grants, synonyms
According to the documentation:
exp.par contains (redacted):
userid=user/pass@db schemas=my_schema full=n directory=clone_dir dumpfile=expbackup.dmp logfile=expbackup.log
I just spotted the full=n - I think that's my answer.
