Any one help me to write a code to call a batch file against a button in Oracle DS10g.
Thanks in advance
Use client_host command to call the batch file which is used along with webutil
Thanks for your reply but i don't want to use webutil in this context. So have there any other way to do. Please give me an example if you can.
in my knowledge,
the only way to invoke a batch file in cmd is using CLIENT_HOST,this function is available in webutil pkg only...
so, you need to use webutil in this context....
client_host('cmd /c start "cmd" "C:\abc.bat"')
I used to use this code in Dev 6i. Although you are asking for different version. I just hope this could be useful;
mr.S.K ,i think here we are talking about Dev10g or Dev11g.
If the file is located on the Application Server (Forms runtime), use the HOST() built-in. If the file is located on the client machine, you need to use the Webutil equivalent CLIENT_HOST().
actually i tried to implement host() in Dev11g and the file in the Application Server , it is not working.
can u give me some examples how to implement it using host();
What is you A.S. operationg system ? What did you put in yourHOSt() command ?
windows server 2008 R2 standard,64 bit.
host('cmd "edit" "c:\tst.txt"');
edit() won't work because the comand is executed on the application server, not the client machine, so that you have no vision of what happen.
I wrote the following code wheres the batch file run and appears the command prompt but doesn't meet my criteria as i need to connect to a oracle db (11g) and execute a query.
