Installing the database from responsefile did tell me that first I got to install grid.
After downloading it and trying to install that from response file I discovered it's not a minor task, though I didn't try the standalone option of the database,
which perhaps won't require the installation of the grid, but I don't think so.
So which kind of installation to you want to perform?
The configuration of response files is not that difficult if you finally got there to understand how they work, and when they don't work.
E.g. I set up a hostname equivalent to my domain causing the installer always to check the wrong host because it was stripping the .com.
And: The installer is reporting all issues in a way you can reread.
In the unzipped database -file you can find a template in response/db_install.rsp, which can get you pretty fast at work, unless you are trying to do clustering.
