I am planning to install a vision demo database with 12.1.1 applications on two different platforms.Database on AIX and applications on Linux.
I summarized the installation path as below, please help to check:
I need to download software for Release 12.1.1 for both AIX and Linux, and install separately in appropriate server.
1. Following section "Before You Install" of this document
2. Refer to
Note 761569.1: Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for IBM AIX on Power Systems (64-bit) [ID 761569.1]
to set up DB node environment. Such as kernel parameter, software requirement and so on.
3. Refer to
Note 761566.1: Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86-64 [ID 761566.1]
Note 761564.1: Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86 [ID 761564.1]
to set up Application node environment. Such as kernel parameter, software requirement and so on.
4. If I am installing in an environment where different machines are used to support the database and Applications tiers (as is typically the case), I would run Rapid Install on each machine in turn, starting with the database machine.
(This step is for install DB node on AIX server with AIX installation source medias/download files)
5. After the DB installation completed, then a configuration file will be generated.
6. Then, run rapid install on application node, and specify the configuration file or DB connect string, so that the application node can read the DB configuration, and install only application file system.
(This step is for install Application node on Linux/Linux 64bit server with Linux installation source medias/download files)
Please help to check, and let me know if anything wrong of my summary.
