    Unable to recover ORACLE XE database

      Dear all,

       

      I am using ORACLE XE IN non archive log mode we do not rman backup.

      Today when i start my machine i got following error.


      STARTUP MOUNT

      ORACLE instance started.

      Variable Size             310379252 bytes

      Database Buffers           58720256 bytes

      Redo Buffers                6152192 bytes

      Database mounted.

      SQL> RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL;

          Note the

           

          >> ...ONLINELOG...archived log contains sequence 18998; sequence 18996 required

           

          and

           

          >> ...ONLINELOG... archived log contains sequence 18997; sequence 18996 required

           

          Doesn't look like the transaction the instance wants for recovery is available. The possible gotcha when running the instance in noarchivelog mode. If there is no other backup, there are no other options.
