Is there a way to detect if Java plugin is deactivated?

My application uses deployJava, launchWebstartApplication(url) to launch a webstart application.

Apple silently deactivate Java plugin when the plugin is not used for a period of time. When that happen, deployJava, launchWebstartApplication(url) is no longer working and no error is displayed.

To get the plugin to work again, the user need to go to http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp (or a page that contain an applet) to re-activate the plugin.

So my question is how can I detect if Java plugin is deactivated and inform the user about this?

      Please help.
