pressing ctrl+d seems to work fine for me.
Create a new project, create a new Java class.
Add the following code:
package a;
import java.awt.image.BufferedImage;
public class Class1 {
public Class1() {
super();
}
BufferedImage a;
}
Stand on the BufferedImage and press ctrl+D - documentation shows up in a pop-up window.

Ctrl+D doesn't work. I can call Help center's popup window by pressing right mouse button and choosing Javadoc from popup menu.
Here I mean doc insight like in Netbeans.

@ https://forums.oracle.com/people/ShayShmeltzer I too see this problem, but not in all cases (check my blog http://wp.me/pcBZk-yP). I'm running Jdev 12c on 64bit jdk 1.7.0_25 on a win7x64 pc java is installed at the default path.
I'll plan to open an issue in the adf-emg bug tracker.

ShayShmelzer, I'm on:
Win7 x 64
jdk1.7.0_25 x 32
JDK path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_25
By the way, when I installed JDev suite, I couldn't install it right from jdev_suite_121200_win32.exe (it was constatntly giving me an error message)
I had to unpack distributive and install it by command from console, like:
C:\jdev_suite_121200_win32\Disk1>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\bin\java.exe" -jar install/modules/ora-launcher.jar DISKCNT=1 JRE_COMPONENT=oracle.jdk,oracle.jre

Can you try moving the JDK to a directory that doesn't have a space in the path (for example c:\JDK\)
Then remove the system directory of your JDeveloper and then re-install JDeveloper.
See if it helps.

Shay, doesn't look like that this helps. Check https://java.net/jira/browse/ADFEMG-149 I made an installation where jdk and jdev system folder are installed in a path without spaces.
