Page is not displayed when integrating jspx popup

I have a page I deploy to Webcenter spaces 11.1.1.7. To use a popup on this page I followed Frank Nimphius example

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/35-passing-values-to-popup-169177.pdf

But my page and the popup is only displayed when I remove all "f:"/"af:" tags from the popup jspx as shown below. Otherwise starting the application shows a blank browser page without error message, so the whole page is not displayed anymore.

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
          xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
          xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
          xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
  <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
  <!--
  <f:view>
    <af:document id="d1">
      <af:form id="f1">
        <af:panelStretchLayout id="psl1">
          <f:facet name="center">

          </f:facet>
        </af:panelStretchLayout>
      </af:form>
    </af:document>
  </f:view>
  -->
</jsp:root>

I think my setup is the same as in Frank Nimphius example above.

1. For local testing I have a test.jspx which implements a bounded taskflow as a region
2. The bounded taskflow has a view activity (points to jsff) and a taskflow call activity.
3. The taskflow called by the taskflow call activity contains a view activity (jspx code see above) and a return activity.

So when I don't use the "f:"/"af:" tags in the jspx dialog my page and the popup are displayed, therefore I think I have the correct settings for the popup. But why I can't use any of these tags??

Thanks in advance,

Frank
