we have a problem with connecting to a RAC.
We have a tnsnames.ora with a service_name for the RAC. Connect by SQLPlus works fine; creating a connection with connection type TNS in SQLDeveloper and connecting works fine. But if we use the same connection specification in a script or the SQL working sheet we receive the message that the connection can not be established. SQL Developer is 3..2.20.09 and RAC 11g Release 22.214.171.124.0 - 64bit.
Any advice? Thank you in advance.
Could be a bug in 3.2.2, fixed in 4.0EA (the connection tries OCI/Thick fails (logs a message), then tries thin with : colon separated syntax - which confuses service name and SID) try:
OCI/thick (note you need to get the instant client/Oracle client version number just right)
4.0EA (which uses bracket "(SERVICE_NAME=" syntax in thin connection from a "connect" (or "copy") command)
